Crespano
TIPS
It is called this way because of the presence of a small farmhouse, dedicated in the early decades of the last century to a winning mare, which was part of a group of trotting horses bred in that area by the Rossi family of Crespano.
This meadow, which can be described as semi-arid and poor, is used for educational purposes at the Don Paolo Chiavacci Center due to its great biodiversity.
Besides being particularly scenic, it represents a place of high natural value, as it is included in the Special Protection Zone.
In the middle of the clearing, there are a couple of buildings where, during the Christmas period, a beautiful nativity scene is set up by the Don Paolo Chiavacci Association.
