Historical Museum of the Great War 1915–1918
The Historical Museum of the Great War 1915–1918 offers an immersive journey through objects and testimonies of daily life at the front. The collection, consisting of around a thousand artifacts, recounts the soldiers’ experience during the First World War through four thematic sections: the mess, the field hospital, leisure time, and the trench.
The heart of the collection is the donation of collector Bruno Xamin, who made available to the Municipality a wide range of original materials — utensils, equipment, medical instruments, and everyday objects — providing a vivid portrayal of the war as lived by the combatants.
Completing the museum’s offer is a specialized library with over 800 volumes dedicated to the First World War, along with a rich historical, photographic, and film archive, which forms the foundation of the Grappa Documentation Center. This is a space for study and research open to scholars, enthusiasts, and schools, featuring an educational section designed to deepen the understanding of history.
A journey through memory to understand — through objects and stories — the reality of war and the sacrifice of those who lived it.
